5-Day Islamic Heritage & Queen Elizabeth Wildlife

The Journey
Day 1: The Foundations of Sincerity: We begin in Kampala with a specialized tour of the Gaddafi National Mosque (Old Kampala) and the historic Kibuli Mosque. Our guides will share the deep history of how Islam arrived and flourished in the Pearl of Africa. In the afternoon, we begin our drive West, passing through the lush tea plantations of Fort Portal. Overnight at a lodge overlooking the Rwenzori Mountains.
Day 2: The Plains of Kasenyi: We enter Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, famous for its lion prides that prey on the abundant Uganda Kob. After lunch and Dhuhr prayers, we explore the Katwe Salt Lake, where traditional mining has been practiced for centuries.
Day 3: The Kazinga Channel Experience: Today features the iconic boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway joins Lake Edward and Lake George and hosts the highest concentration of Hippos in the world. You will see Elephants and Buffaloes cooling off at the water's edge just meters from the boat.
Day 4: The Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha: We drive to the remote Ishasha sector in the southern part of the park. This is one of the few places in the world where lions are known to climb and sleep in fig trees. It is a spectacular sight that requires patience and an expert eye—both of which your Al-Ikhlas guide provides.
Day 5: Chimpanzees & Departure: Our final adventure is a trek in the "Underground Forest" of Kyambura Gorge to find the playful Chimpanzees. After the trek, we begin our scenic drive back to Entebbe, stopping for a celebratory Halal farewell lunch on the way.
