3-Day Batwa Trail & Forest Heritage Immersion

Day 1: Journey to the Volcanic South.

Depart Kampala/Entebbe for the misty peaks of the Virunga Volcanoes in southwestern Uganda. The scenic drive takes you through the Kigezi highlands. Arrive at your lodge, settle in, and enjoy an evening briefing about the history of the forest’s original keepers.

Day 2: The Batwa Trail & Garama Cave.

Led by Batwa guides, step into the dense bamboo forests. Learn ancient survival skills, medicinal plant uses, and traditional hunting techniques. The trail culminates at the sacred Garama Cave, once a refuge for the Batwa king, where you will experience a hauntingly beautiful underground musical performance.

Day 3: The Craftsmen and the Return.

Spend the morning visiting local community craft centers, directly supporting the indigenous artisans. After a bespoke lunch in Mbarara, begin the scenic return journey to the capital.
